An introduction of Tribhuvan University
The education of our country for centuries followed traditional pattern and it only witnessed the entry of modern education system in the 19th century, which, however, could not develop in cumulative ratio. As a result, the education of this nation has not developed as per the expectation. Only after Trichandra college, the first higher educational institute, Tribhuvan has been established in 2016, Asadh 30. After the establishment of TU the institutional development has begun.
Tribhuvan University deserves immense credit for its contribution, has become the backbone of the education system of this nation.
It was established with the objective of preparing syllabi and curricula of Liberal Arts and General Science; and various educational programs will be conducted in lieu with the drafted curricula. With the target of development and enhancement of the education, it made the policy that the interested colleges can be affiliated. Since then is has produced skilled human resource for which it catered with quality education, research in different field.
Tribhuvan University has shouldered the responsibility to produce qualified and skilled for giving higher education and developing the nation. It has incessantly devoted itself for the development of the education from its initiation. Committed to age wise education, TU has promptly faced two main challenges. At first it has to produce competitive education up to the international standard and the second is to preserve people's faith for wielding the responsibility for the nation. TU has remained center for higher education for the people ranging from lower strata in terms of social, economic and geographical issues.
At present TU consists of 60 associated and 616 affiliated campuses which are running with full-fledged scale. It has a total number of 291,616 students. TU has been committed for the quality education by applying the achievements drawn from the academic research.
In the Postage Stamp brought out on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Tribhuvan University in Nepal, the hexagon, logo of the university representing Saraswati (The goddess of learning) has been depicted. |
